June 7th Newsletter
Hello Church Family,
I hope you’re doing well. It has been a full week around here. I had orientation for my Master of Divinity program today, and I’m now in Peoria for the Illinois Great Rivers Annual Conference through Saturday. There has been a lot happening, and I appreciate your prayers during this busy season.
This Sunday will be my final Sunday in the pulpit at Auburn and Cotton Hill. I’ll be preaching from Psalm 23, a scripture that has carried many of us through hard seasons and uncertain paths. I hope you can join us for worship.
I also hope you’ll be able to attend one of the two gatherings next week as we say goodbye. You can find those details below. If you’re unable to make either one and would like to connect another time, please reach out. You have meant a great deal to our family, and we would love the chance to say farewell in person.

Weekly Updates
Farewell Potluck – There will be a Farewell Potluck for Pastor Michael, Ashley, and Alexis on Sunday, June 14, after the worship service. Please sign up in the back of the Sanctuary. If you are unable to make the potluck, Cotton Hill is hosting an open house for the Maddens on Saturday, June 13, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.
Interim Pastor – As announced last week in worship, Pastor Larry Moreau has been appointed to be our interim pastor, beginning July 1. Pastor Larry and his wife, Ali, will help us continue to grow and prepare to receive a new pastor in the next appointment year.
Pastoral Contact – Pastor Michael’s last Sunday will be June 7. We will have guest preachers from Auburn and Cotton Hill from June 14-28. If you have a pastoral care need during that time, please contact Kirk Yenerall.
Volunteers needed-This Sunday after church we will be putting together the Take Home bags that are handed out each Thursday at Lunch in the Park. This should not take much time if everyone can stay and fill one bag.
